Cobra Ironman70.3 Philippines

August 5, Sunday was a day for the fittest; held at Mactan, Cebu Philippines, the 4th Cobra Energy Drink Ironman70.3 participated with 1,700 athletes started the Triathlon early morning in the open sea, at the beach of Shangri la Hotel and Beach Resort. The course covered the 1.9km swim, then the 90km biking trail and lastly the 21.1km run.

While audience were cheering, seeing the athletes taking the swimming course was just amazing, to witness different participants from different countries, and  on how they manage to swim the rough condition of the sea.

As the participants made their way to the next course, participants where cheered by over 25,000 people while waving their flaglets during the biking trail and the running course. At the last course of triathlon, I can see that participants were really exhausted from running but thanks to all the kids cheering and keeping them motivated to finish. But still that's running is something,  I cant even handle a kilometer of running how much more on them running 21.1km, huh! "Well those athletes are fit so they can manage it".

 

  

On the other hand, some known personalities and celebrities participated the event

including the male heartrobs Piolo Pascual, Mateo Guidicelli, the trivia king Kuya Kim Atienza, David Charlton - owner of David Salon and politician Sen. Pia Cayetano.

As celebration for the success of the 4th Cobra Ironman triathlon competition which was held 1st in Cebu, a street party was organized at  the M.L. Quezon Avenue. Blasting the street were 5 party stages and 6 disco stations provided for the tourist and every person who joined the event. Together with the Cebu Bloggers Society and as for what Oponganons say, "it’s more fun in the Philippines, but it’s double the fun in Lapu-Lapu City".
